arrey yaar arujun, tussi dimaag theek hai?

a part of my post in lunatic calm
got to know abt the news that arjun singh is going to pass a bill increasing the SC/ST quota in educational institutions. it will be 50% in institutions like IITs and IIMs. being a SC, i still feel that its not gud decision to take. at the time of BR Ambedkar, i agree dat almost all of Backward and scheduled castes were treated badly. they werent accepted by the society. so, the potests this man made were necessary to bringup those backward castes, crushed ruthlessly under the boots of those so called agra varna people. but, things have changed. so, are the people. now, its not a point to give quotas based on caste. empowering the power should be the motto. not empowering perticular commune or caste. the reservations should be based on financial states, must not be based on a caste. empowering a part of society should not supress the talents in the other part of society.

I really appreciate ur post! I completely agree. for me it sounds really ridiculous to know that govt is trying to do something at such a high level when it is very much commonsensical that the revision should be at primary level on economic basis.
I would like to point out in this case the adverse circumstances in which the scavenger community in India is living. their condition is still the same even after having 59 years of reservation pattern in India. so who are the beneficiaries- the ones who really need it or the economically well doing.let there be equal, well standard and afordable opportunities at the primary level so that everykid goes to school that has international standards and become capable to winning a merit seat in reputed organization, which would provide scholarships on merit basis. there should be a zeal that leads to competetion and not easy pathways that'll produce idlers.
there is one more thing that I would like to add. the minister had also said that there will be an increase in the no of seats too, so that the merit students don't suffer. but how far is it viable we all know- because we all have faced a situation where even a small no of pupils are not handled properly by the teaching community.
voice ur views always. it is never too late.

Hello...the anonymous who bugged Raj is back...

Anyways..Sowmya..you got a point there..but what I dont really understand is that people really fight and just go on strike against "the" Arjun Singh decision to help the backward communities...all this for whose sake...

Does the govt really care for the middle class and other people....Does the Court, which warned the students against this strike, really care..

I'll tell u what happens...the govt has 10 weeks time to answer the court...that time is enough for the govt to divert people's attention...and also people who went ahead on strike are also going to forget the whole issue..then its back to "square one"...

"Rang De Basanti" is not possible..."Aparichitudu" is out of question...No way out people...just let this Govt.go ahead with policies..

By the way....we know each other very well Sowmya...
